Patent awarded to Qnext for its virtualized distributed content access system
The innovative decentralized cloud system of FileFlex is now patented
Toronto, Ontario – October 31, 2019 – Qnext Corp., the innovator of a service delivery platform based on decentralized edge-cloud architecture for file sharing and collaboration today announced that the virtualized distributed content access system underlying FileFlex is the intellectual property of Qnext Corp. protected under US Patent # 10,455,026.
This patented process allows users to access and share content from any device whether the content is stored on servers, direct attached storage (DAS), infrastructure-as-a-service providers (IaaS), PCs, public cloud storage, private cloud storage, file transfer protocol (FTP), network attached storage (NAS), routers and storage area network (SAN) devices.
The benefits of this are significant. It means that FileFlex allows content to be accessed, shared and collaborated from source locations without the end user having to upload the content to a central server or any third-party Cloud service provider.
Even though the underlying patented technology is very sophisticated and took years to develop, from a user perspective it is very simple and easy to use. For example, from a single pane-of-glass or dashboard you can access files located on the infrastructure of a remote office and the corporate server, a department NAS, FTP or an individual’s PC. In addition, from that same dashboard, you can access Infrastructure-as-a-Service storage such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or Amazon S3, as well as a private cloud if you have one, and any public clouds you are using. Not only can you access this storage from any remote PC, tablet or smartphone, you can also perform file management functions like cut, copy, paste, rename, delete and create a folder between them. And, as well, you can share any files that they have, stream any media or collaborate with file editing and locking. All of these activities are tracked and secure under the control and visibility of IT.
FileFlex is the world’s most cybersecure file sharing and collaboration platform for today’s distributed workforce. IDC research suggests that by 2020 mobile workers will account for 72.3% of the workforce. FileFlex provides a cybersecure application for remote access and collaboration of information without replication to another server (like EFSS or cloud storage) or access to the infrastructure (like a VPN or remote desktop software). Instead FileFlex uses its patented, virtualized, distributed content access system to access, share, manage or collaborate files from their source locations.
FileFlex when combined with Intel® SGX provides unique silicon-to-silicon enclave protection against snooping and intercept even if the system is compromised. Intel SGX hardened crypto-functionality ensures that the keys remain protected both at rest and in use. It uses the secure enclaves within the silicon itself against shared data being snooped or tampered with at any stage of access or transmission.
FileFlex takes a layered approach to cybersecurity. The secure eco-system created by these layers provides an absolute knock-out punch and brings ‘Fort-Knox’ type security to remote content access, sharing and collaboration.
“This is an awesome milestone for everyone at Qnext and is a testament to the hard work, dedication, innovation and passion that our team of industry veterans has put into the development of FileFlex,” said Anthony DeCristofaro, president and CEO of Qnext. “Further, this patent provides legal protection to the incredible support of our investors.”
